Title: Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and UN RC sign the Integrated UN Programme for Montenegro
Today, in Podgorica, H.E. Milan Rocen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and Alexander Avanessov, UN Resident Coordinator, in an official ceremony, signed the Integrated UN Programme 2010-2015. The Integrated UN Programme anticipates three strategic programme pillars, namely: Social Inclusion, Democratic Governance, and Sustainable Economic Development & Environmental Protection.
Today, in Podgorica, H.E. Milan Rocen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro and Alexander Avanessov, UN Resident Coordinator, signed, in an official ceremony, the Integrated UN Programme 2010-2015.
Around one million US dollars has been allocated for programmes within the Pillars. Harmonization of priority programmes in the area of social inclusion, that will cover the projects of transformation of Komanski Most Institution and Konik settlement will be completed very soon – said Minister Rocen.
Avanessov reconfirmed a strong commitment of UN agencies in Montenegro to work with the government, civil society and inhabitants of Montenegro to promote principles of UN, which are reflected in the Programme.
“We strongly believe that the implementation of the Integrated UN Programme will increase the national ownership of UN activities in Montenegro and contribute to the achievement of MDGs and other major national and international goals” he added.
It was pointed out that all the resident UN agencies operating in Montenegro will be involved in implementation of those projects.
